Originally from Southern California, Blair grew up in a large family of creative women who taught her cooking, gardening, and sewing at a very early age and ignited in her a passion for the creative arts in all forms.
While attending UCSC, Blair began her career in jewelry by collecting and restructuring vintage jewelry that she found at flea markets into more modern silhouettes. After much success with this endeavor, she moved to Los Angeles where she designed jewelry for companies like Saks 5th Avenue, Henri Bendel, Anthropologie, Forever 21, and many more.
While this afforded her an unmatched knowledge into the commercial world of jewelry, Blair craved a return to her roots in jewelry - high quality, unique, handmade designs with a story. And she’s found a perfect home with TASI!
Blair will be womaning the TASI store most days in addition to her strategic role in growing the TASI brand!
Blair lives in SE Portland with her husband, Kevin; dog, Big Viv; and cats, Tito & Fat Stuff.

]]>The Pantone color of 2017 is Greenery! Pantone described Greenery as, “a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.” Nothing could sound better as we chip and thaw our way out of yet another ice storm in Portland this winter!
We love this color and it can be found in many pieces of the TASI line! Greenery is a match to the gorgeous stone Green Garnet, a gemstone option for all pieces in the TASI Gemstone Collection. Green Garnet is said to promote confidence and stability in challenges. It is a beautiful accent to silver and even more rich when paired with gold. View the Gemstone Collection and all the designs that can feature Green Garnet - the color trend for 2017.
Greenery is also the color of Peridot, one of Taya’s favorite gemstones to feature in one-of-a-kind designs, and the birthstone for August!

]]>On this trip, Taya’s stepbrother Saibo was travelling with and helping Ebrima. Saibo recently moved to Columbus, OH from Gambia and has been training to take over the business one day. Saibo will become the fourth generation of bead and textile traders in the Sillah legacy.
It was so much fun catching up with our local community of African bead enthusiasts as Ebrima’s contacts came to the studio to check out his current collection. We love how these artifacts continue to inspire awareness for the cultures and places from which they came.
We couldn’t help ourselves, and were filling up our basket as Ebrima and Saibo were unloading the van. One of our favorites from this visit was Ebrima’s collection of Tamba belts from his own country, Gambia. We have been featuring Tamba beads in our Stowaway line, and you can expect some new designs and new color sweeps for the Spring Stowaway collection!
Ebrima’s visit couldn’t have come at a better time as we are expanding our collection of one-of-a-kind Tasi pieces that feature rare and antique ethnic beads. We are so inspired to design with these components, giving them a new path on their journey through the world as objects of personal adornment.]]>Craftywonderland at the Oregon Convention Center

That's 5 years of doing what I love every day - creating jewelry by hand for lovely ladies (and the occasional man)! I am so lucky to own this amazing business in such an inspiring town.
I couldn't have gotten to where I am without the amazing support of friends, family, and loyal customers. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
My biggest thanks goes out to my sister Silvija - who helped build this business up from the days when we worked out of a closest and had nothing but fabric lining our wallets. And though she's moved on to new opportunities, I feel like she's still here at my side lending her critical eye and amazing laughter. I miss you Sil!
To celebrate 5 years we're offering 25% off through the end of October with coupon code:
